· Tween and Beyond
Tween and beyond me, that is. Asked if she knows what a tween is, Granddaughter answered that it is someone between 10 years old and a teenager. "That is correct," I replied, "and you are a child, since you are younger than 10, still a single-digit." She quickly retorted, "I am not a child." Puzzled, I asked, "What are you then?" She sat straight up and declared, "I'm a kid." "When did you become a kid?" I wondered. She replied, "Back when I was 5." "Oh, a child is anyone under 5. Okay." After a pause, we began pondering...when and what, then, is a toddler? "A toddler is someone when she can walk with those poofy pants on," she decided (see picture above).
We agreed that a toddler doesn't exist for very long, after first laying low for a year or so as a baby, maybe two years, it all happens pretty rapidly...from baby (then to scooter) to toddler to child...then a long stretch running as a kid, a race in which Granddaughter is a proud participant.
"I can't wait until I'm 9."
"Why?" I asked, surprised.
"Well...welllll...I don't know." She wiggled and giggled.

· Talented Tween Guest
Early in July of 2009 a family of four nested in the Chessie Lee's Peas Suite. In conversation it was discovered that the tween daughter is developing her artistic abilities in molding very cute little objects, such as the colorful birds pictured above, one of which paired up well with a toy bird belonging to our granddaughter. Take a look at the feet!

· Prairie Homestead (Guest Nest)
Mountains To Prairies Bed and Breakfast - The ground level knotty pine cabin-style PRAIRIE HOMESTEAD of M2P first opened in August of 2009. Amenities include a 4' shower with two jets (for the lower back) in the private bath, a queen pillowtop bed, small fridge, microwave, wireless high speed internet, hd tv/dvd/vcr, cove heat and AC, plus a ceiling fan, comfortable loveseat, personal entrance/exit (out the rear of the house, onto a private deck), service entry within the house, a twin bed in a Nook which has the nostalgic idiosyncrasy of what has been dubbed a Hayloft. Prairie Homestead bears some resemblance to the larger family-sized suite, Chessie Lee's Peas, in that it is nearly all wrapped with knotty pine, though many characteristics are reminiscent of homestead life on the prairie. One may find the rising sun, the moon and the big dipper in this popular room. The round copper sink embossed with vining wild flowers rests atop a hand-crafted vanity!
