Smiling Bear was busy in the kitchen August 31, creating 'Mountain Lion' Palisade Colorado Peach and Wild Raspberry Jam to go!! It seemed a fitting grand finale to the Wild Raspberry picking season, with most of the berries found near Hill City, South Dakota, where mountain lions do roam the woods. The peaches were ordered and purchased at Krull's Market here in Hill City.
Smiling Bear sells this succulent jam (made using organic sugar) exclusively in the shop at Mountains To Prairies B&B as well as through postal service.

and they are indeed delicious, juicy, sweet. :)

Dear Professor, what is the deal with mealy peaches? Is there any way to tell which ones will be mealy so I can avoid purchasing them? They're such a disappointment.
